Meet the Teacher
This will be my 11th year as a teacher. I am a 1996 graduate of the University of Texas at Austin. My major was Applied Learning and Development and I specialized in Earth Science. I am certified to teach 1st-8th grade. In May, 2015 I completed my Masters Degree in Differentiated Instruction from Concordia University, Texas. Prior to joining Caraway, I taught 8th grade science at Pearson Ranch and Cedar Valley Middle School (8th-Sci), as well as 5th grade at Elsa England and Great Oaks Elementary.
I have lived in Austin since the age of three. My family moved to Texas so my father could attend the University of Texas. I attended Austin Schools: Govalle, Cook, Burnet Middle School and Lanier High School. During my senior year, I met my husband Steve. We were married in 1994 and have two children, Nicolas and Isabel. Nicolas will be a sophomore at Texas State University this fall and is majoring in business. Isabel is a full time student at Paul Mitchell, Austin and is studying to be a makeup artist and hair dresser. We also have two fabulous dogs, Hank and Prince.
I am thrilled to be returning to elementary! I cannot wait to challenge my new students and watch them grow throughout the year.
